Sighthounds Ruby, Grace and Boola did a hard day's work on the stall - greeting their adoring public throughout the day, (oh and their owners were there aswell).

The hounds loved all the attention and were perfectly behaved the whole time. They did an excellent job of promoting SOL, tin shaking, proving what adorable dogs sighthounds are and managed to raise over £270. 

SOL would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated, bid or both!! As always you made our Auction a huge success and the money will go to help some hounds who really need it 

It's summer - let's hope we get the weather for it this year - so what does that mean for our members? Sun, sand, sea and Sangria? Possibly, but even more fun than that is our super sizzling SOLstice auction!

So, from Friday 18th June to Sunday 27th June 2010 we will be auctioning lots of goodies donated by kind benefactors. There will be doggy delights, people pressies and all manner of luvverly stuff!

Of course, we do need you to actually source the aforementioned goodies, so please can we beg you to all get rummaging, begging, buying and blagging, and then contact anybody on the staff with details and piccies of the items, also telling us whether you'll be able to cover the postage or need the buyer to do that? We can't do it without you!

So, who is this all in aid of? Well, this time we are raising much needed money for Mary, at Dungarvan Rescue Kennels - most of you will know of some of the heartbreaking cases Mary has dealt with over the years, and how very much she can use our help. Her website is at http://dungarvanrescue.org/

Summer SOLstice Auction for PAWS, Spain ~ Emergency Auction!

PAWS in spain have been really struggling financially. We decided to hold an online auction for them and thanks to our amazing supporters have raised £3152!!!. The shelter are full with dogs to care for and very little funds to pay for all the food and vet bills. A recent outbreak of parvo has made the situation even worse. 6 items on the auction were to raise money for pet passsports to get some of the younger dogs over to the UK and into new homes, these were a great success!
