Betty is a long-haired podenco she is approximately 5-6 years old. She is a beautiful quiet girl and is very timid at first when you meet her after some time she comes out of her shell and is a very loving little girl. She would love a quiet rural home where she can get lots of love and attention. She loves her walks and is great on the lead, she will need work with her recall, and she is nervous of strangers when she first meets them, however she gains confidence day by day.

She is very relaxed and quiet in the house, fully house trained and non destructive. She has slowly started to play and she is very gentle. She is great with other dogs, and would like to be re-homed with another companion. She is also fine with cats.

Whoever takes on Beautiful Betty will be rewarded by her loyalty and her gentleness she is a wonderful character and has so much potential.

Sadly she has had a very hard life and was found as a stray, she was very thin and malnourished, however she has now made a full recovery and is looking for her forever home. From what we know she was living with an English family out there with 4 other dogs, the family broke up and moved back to the UK and threw the dogs out. So sad, Betty was left to wander the Spanish countrside and fend for herself for the past year before we managed to eventually gain her trust and rescue her.

She is being fostered in North London. Please get in touch if you think you can offer this gorgeous lady a very special home that she deserves.

How on earth anyone could throw out a creature as beautiful and endearing as this girl, is totally beyond me!! She is absolutely gorgeous!!

I know she is so lovely breaks your heart to think of what happened to her...she is so scared when she meets new people! But after a few days she is just so loving!

Betty is absolutely beautiful and looks the splitting image of my Menta. If I had the room I would take her tomorrow as a matched pair of bookends.

sadly that is the normal thing now with the english here
no passports for the dogs no one will take them as every where is full to bursting so they just chuck the dogs out.

Yes sadly the English are dumping them out there all the time I have another little dog coming to me in a couple of weeks from and English family, we seem to be taking more from the Brits than the Spanish at the moment it's not good......

Wow, she is absolutely gorgeous Bet she'll be snapped up really quickly. If we had a space on our sofa I'd be jumping at the chance to love her forever.

Anyone rehoming Betty will find they have a very devoted Sighthound. She will be shy to start until she finds her feet. Menta and Betty look like sisters. Menta was very nervous of other people and dogs, but now she runs to them greeting them. Menta loves giving people and especially puppies washes. With puppies Menta is so interested in them and tries to get them to play. Menta has changed many shy and nervous dogs into ones that want to play.

Has beautiful betty had much interest? How tall would you say she is?

Beautiful Betty is about 50cm height approx!! She has had lots of interest, and we have a lovely couple coming to see her this weekend so fingers crossed for her! I will keep you updated

If I had a larger house with lots more room and a large grassed garden I would have snapped Betty up as a mate to Menta. I measured Menta today her body height is 24 inches (60 cms) and body length is 26 inches (67 cms)

Beautiful Betty has now found her forever home in the Lake District!! With the most wonderful couple in the most lovely home, she has a galgo friend too, and 4 cats, so far she has settled in really well! They took her on Sunday and we were worried that she would be very reserved for the first few weeks - however the first whiff of country air and rabbits was enough for her to forget all her worries in life and begin her next adventure!

We are so happy for this special girl she has found the perfect home that she really does deserve after such a hard life! Her new family are delighted with her, and Betty or Betsy Blue as she is now known!! wants to thank Emma D for showing her picture to her new family who of-course fell in love with her! and got in touch with me to come and visit her.

I will stop rambling now and being all emotional, but as you can tell I am so delighted for her!

I have just caught up with this thread with being away. What a beautiful girl Betty is and thank goodness you found her. I hope she is so happy in her forever home and look forward to hearing about how she is doing. I wish I could say I am surprised it is the English people throwing them out but sadly not. Thank you all for being there.
