Today we were driving through a housing estate and nearly ran over a lovely brindle Greyhound boy.
We stopped, called him and he obligingly trotted up to us. We carry collars and what have you in the car so we gave him a good look over and he looks like he's been living in the great outdoors for a while. We popped him into the car to get him off the busy road, he was very pleased and settled down for a kip.

We've asked about the rescue homes, police and dog warden but nobody has reported this cutie missing. We've looked on doglost too.
Vet says he's in good nick despite the fact he thinks that this lad has been living outdoors for a goodly while and fending for himself.

We fed him a small feed and he wolfed it with gusto. We've just fed him again and he's a good eater. We decided against popping him into the local RSPCA as they keep them 7 days then put them to sleep. We thought we'd foster him for a bit and see if an owner turns up. We thought that we'd pop some posters up locally tomorrow about him.
He has a tattoo but there is no info on the tattoo register for him. Don't think that he's come from a rescue place as he is un-neutered.

We have temporarily named him "Foster" and mingled him in with our lot. Poco the horror is in love He's following my lovely Ken around like a dog besotted.

Oh Raffie, what a lucky day for Foster it has turned out to be. Of all the people to land with, he has landed with two of the nicest folks possible. I hope Ken falls for him, and you keep him but even if not, he is safe with you till a rescue can help out.

Well, we came downstairs to mega poo in the kitchen!!!

Everyone slept well (we took the terriers to bed for H&S reasons) and we've all been walkies this morning. He's still acting half starved and follows every crumb around the house. We've discovered that he likes Oat-so-simple after he stole my brekky. I had to make new brekky! He's on greyhound food and seems happy.

I have to go to work, lovely OH is coat hunting on the interweb! Foster needs a bigger collar so OH might go to the pet shop for him. Not that he's gone soft or anything but he has put a nice quilt down in Fosters 'fave' spot.

Sounds a lot like Foster is moving in for good

Clumsy oaf, roached up against the door, which opened and he fell into the living room. He carried on roaching though.

Another day and night have passed with the big brindle daftie. Everyone loves everyone else and Poco has taken to walking over him to get to where she wants to be. Just steps on him He doesn't seem to mind at all and has started to try to play a bit with Feargal and Poco. Not much, just a few tentative bounces in the yard. Its all good.

Greyhound racing investigator says that he still has not been reported missing

BTW he's having a big upsidedown sleep. Piccies later when I have a min. I got one on my phone but need to send to email. New phone and don't know how it works but I got a piccy

Well, we quite like 'fudge' and 'treacle' too. So still undecided about a name. He's currently referred to as 'stripey boy' or 'baby' or 'puppy' amongst other things. Well work on a name now we are home from work for the rest of the weekend
