I’m posting (with permission) the following dogs on behalf of Stray Action for Dogs, Deerness Kennels, Durham (www.strayaction.com). They are an all breed rescue but get a lot of lurchers and greyhounds looking for homes.
STRAY ACTION are committed to re-homing all their stray dogs whenever possible. They have a non-destruction policy so that all dogs have a safe haven until a suitable home can be found. These dogs are mostly homeless through no fault of their own, through family circumstances, owner's ill health, bereavement, being abandoned or abused, or just that their owners don't want them anymore.
All dogs are vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and have six weeks free insurance. Lurchers and greyhounds are mostly rehomed in the North East but can be rehomed anywhere in the country. All potential new homes will be subject to a home-check (vet checks may also be required) and a donation of £75 is requested.
Anybody wishing to rehome one of these dogs or to find out further details needs to contact the rescue - details below:

At Deerness, but not with Stray action but in the RSPCA kennels there, is the gorgeous Mitchell. Please someone give him a home - contact details below.

Mitchell
I am a 7 year old Saluki dog. I am wary of strangers, especially males, but can be very affectionate when I get to know you. I love to play and have a couple of walks every day. I am looking for a new owner with previous knowledge of Salukis, but no children.

Unfortunately the RSPCA say they will only allow Mitchell to be rehomed within a 30 mile radius of Durham! :hit:

Just to add I spoke to saluki welfare about this gorgeous boy and they are aware of him. He's doing well in a foster home so is safe and content for the moment, and by all accounts has a number of people looking out for him and his situation. :flowers: Hope that puts minds at ease a bit, it did mine. :thumb: He still needs that forever home though...anyone?
