JESSIE

Attached Image

Laid back, 5 year old, black female.
Jessie has spent most of her life in kennels and isn't used to getting lots of attention, so soaks up any bit you give her.
She gets on no problem with the other greyhounds in the kennels and walks nicely on the lead.
Jessie is going to relish her home comforts once she finds her forever family.

Currently in kennels in Ireland.

TED

Attached Image

2 year old, large, fawn boy with white markings and an unusual black muzzle.
Ted is a chunky boy, strong on the lead, and can be lively when meeting the local canine population.
However, he behaved like a gentleman on his first walk with one of the ladies in our pack!

Currently in kennels in Ireland.

BEAU

Attached Image

Friendly, 3 year old, fawn female.
Beau loves people and has a waggy tail for everyone who comes to her kennel.
She adores getting fussed over and would stand for her cuddles all day long if she could!
We feel Beau might be better as an only dog as she can get grumpy if other dogs invade her space or go near her food.
She will not be suitable for a home with very young children.

Currently in kennels in Ireland.

PEG & SCHOLES

Attached Image

5 year old greyhounds who are brother and sister, and looking for a home together.
Peg is the white and fawn girl and Scholes is the black boy.
Though they look like a bit of an odd couple, they get on fantastically together and we dont have the heart to split them up.
Both are well-rounded, friendly dogs who love to give cuddles and walk beautifully on the lead.
They also enjoy playing with each other, and will keep each other occupied when left alone.
Neither have experienced living in a home before, having spent their entire lives in kennels.
Do you have a sofa big enough for two?

Currently in kennels in Ireland.

SAMMY

Attached Image Attached Image

*UPDATED JUNE 2010*

*RESERVED FOR BELGIUM*
Gorgeous, 3 year old, blue male.
Sammy is a truly stunning boy with striking eyes and a satin-soft coat that is in wonderful condition.
He is a smaller male, measuring 27 inches to the shoulder.
Sammy has settled nicely into our kennels now and his little personality is shining through.
He is a placid, good natured dog and tends to take everything in his stride.
Loves being around people, greets you with a waggy tail, and absolutely loves getting his chin scratched!
He is a leaner too, and likes to rest against your leg whilst you pet him.
Sammy especially enjoys his walks, travels well in the car, and is a dream to walk on the lead.
Has met a variety of different dogs, including a small shih tzu, without any problems.
Likes to give a quirky little yodle when he needs to go out, and after that he settles down happily again.
Sammy adores his meals, so anyone who has a treat at hand quickly becomes his new best friend!
He has a calm personality and is going to make a superb companion for someone.
Unfortunately, Sammy is not cat friendly.

Currently in kennels in Ireland.

CHINA

Attached Image Attached Image

*UPDATED JUNE 2010*

Beautiful, 3 year old, fawn & white girl.
China is fairly tall for a female greyhound, but is slender in build and curls up small.
She is quite timid, but she is starting to come out of herself in her foster home.
She feels more confident with other dogs around so we would like to find her a home with another dog.
When out on walks China is much more relaxed and is not bothered by noisy traffic etc, and travels well in the car.
Friendly with small dogs, but she does get very excited about cats so needs someone who can be firm with her.
China can be left alone, is clean in the house, and will make a very rewarding companion.

BLUE

Attached Image Attached Image

*RESERVED*
Gorgeous lurcher girl with stunning blue eyes and beautiful merle type markings.
Blue is approx 1-2 years old, and has recently had a litter of pups, which have all now been adopted.
She is a real character, a very friendly happy girl with a tail that never stops wagging.
Loves to roach in her bed with all four legs in the air.
When inside the house, Blue is very well behaved and only has the odd little accident, so housetraining will be fairly easy.
She gets on well with the children, who are aged between 11 and 15 years old, and with the other resident dogs.
Blue is fully vaccinated including kennel cough, and has now been spayed.

Currently in foster care in Ireland.

BAMBI

Attached Image

*ADOPTED*
Scrummy, 6 month old, blue-brindle greyhound pup.
Bambi is a stunning little girl with a silky, soft coat and adorable flopsy ears that tend to have a mind of their own!
She has sadly been returned to us, because she has not yet learned to be clean in the house.
Now in one of our dedicated foster homes, Bambi is already starting to get the housetraining idea.
Bambi is a delight to be around - extremely friendly, playful and affectionate.
She is currently living with other dogs, children and cats, and gets on great with them all.
Bambi is not yet neutered so her adopters will need to agree to get her spayed.
A suitable home for Bambi would be one where there is someone around for most of the time.

JERRY

Attached Image

Gentle, 4 year old, black boy.
Jerry is laid back, well mannered, very friendly and content.
Loves being around people and will stand beside you all day long if you are offering ear rubs!
He walks good on the lead, travels very well and gets on brilliantly with other dogs.
Jerry severed his achilles tendon (not a racing related injury) in May last year and had an operation in Dublin.
He was in a home convalescing for 6 months, during that time he was the perfect patient.
This injury is now fully healed and poses no further problems.
Likes to roach on his back after his walks and we know Jerry is going to relish being back in a home again.
He's a great dog and deserves a good and loving retirement.
Jerry is not cat friendly.

Currently in kennels in Ireland.

SPRITE

Attached Image Attached Image

**EXPERIENCED HOME REQUIRED**

*RESERVED*
Sprite has made some huge steps over the past eight and half months in his foster home. However, he will need to be adopted into a very experienced home. Below is what his foster family have to say about him:

Sprite was totally neurotic when he came to us, he trusted nobody, was very aggressive, totally stressed out, in pain with tooth ache, and used his strength to maintain dominance. We are immensely proud of Sprite's achievements, he is now a 'normal' beautiful loving dog, who loves to play, is quick to learn new commands, obedient, clean in the house, and has good manners. He now allows us to handle him, without a muzzle, to clip his nails, grooming, clean his teeth etc. Ideally his forever home would be with people who are at home most of the day, he would possibly accept a female companion, but definitely no cats, small dogs, or small children. He may be ok with older children 15 years plus, who are taught how to approach and handle him. Sprite does have issues of how he is approached, it has to be done in a manner that allows him to 'come to you', he does not tolerate anybody coming over the top of him, or trying to 'hug' him. He tends to do this more so to strangers who invade 'his personal space', we no longer have this problem with him as he trusts us, this of course comes with time, lots of love and commitment.
He is a lot better on the lead (still occasionally twizzling on his back legs). We can now walk past most large dogs without lunging at them, he does get tense when he goes out for a walk, which is fear related - gentle talking and reassuring him does help, and this is definitely getting better. He is also frightened of gunshot and fireworks.
We feel that anyone who wants to adopt Sprite needs to come and meet him a few times before he is permanently re-homed, if possible take him out for walks, to earn his trust and to understand that he still has problems that have to be overcome. He needs to be placed with experienced people who can continue his training and socialisation.

Currently in foster care in Norfolk.
